This was not normal female behaviour- nor indeed motherly behaviour.
Their marriage in 2006 was consecrated "according to the law of Moses and Israel. A Jewish marriage is not normally dissolved except "under the Law of Moses and Israel." Its procedure, based upon Biblical precept, is strictly governed by by the halakha. Divorces granted under secular or civil law by civil authorities have no validity under Jewish law. Civil divorces possess no moral or spiritual significance in severing the consecrated bonds of religious marriage.
The Jewish divorce proceedings must be supervised by a Beth Din, a babbinic court consisting of three rabbis competent in the laws of marriage and divorce.
THIS JEWISH BILL OF DIVORCE CANNOT BE FORM-PRINTED BUT MUST BE HAND WRITTEN IN ITS ENTIRETY-SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PARTICULAR MAN AND THE PARTICULAR WOMAN FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF EFFECTING THIS PARTICULAR DIVORCE.
